Oh my god, I'm so glad that LJ is back. Not having it today has made me realize how much I rely on it. I kept checking that Six Apart page and watching as they got TypePad and Vox up and was really annoyed that LJ seemed to have the lowest priority.  Apparently Craigslist, Netflix, and a bunch of other sites went down for a while too.

Not being able to go onto LJ made me get all philosophical about how dependent I am (and all of us are, really) on the internet. What would we all do if it didn't work one day? The internet is how I get all of my information. It's how I connect with most of my friends, get news and entertainment, and find directions. I would quite possibly go into shock if the internet went down completely.

There wasn't a ton online about the whole fiasco, although I did find out that it was because of a San Francisco power outage.  However, I did find this absolutely hilarious video from The Onion about the whole situation.  It made me laugh.

Breaking News: All Online Data Lost After Internet Crash

I logged on to my LJ and the ad at the top was for Heroes Wiki!  Now that's some advertising that I don't mind having here.  I love Heroes Wiki.  It's so very useful for double-checking facts and it's how I found out that Nathan and Heidi's kids actually have names. 



Also, I realized the other day that approximately half of my posts are tagged with Heroes (see how it's the biggest word in my tag cloud!).  Obviously, I'm obsessed.  So, sorry to those of you on my flist that don't watch it and have to wade through my Heroes posts! 

Well, I decided to get a shiny new layout and switch default userpics (yay newly-made Ginny Weasley icon!).  I stuck my old header in and the layout seems pretty good so far, except that the tags in the sidebar are causing comments to get pushed all the way to the bottom.  Anyone know how to fix that?

Oh well, I'm off to go watch Serendipity with my flatmate.

I give up.  Well, temporarily at least.  My entire goal in life for the past couple hours was to make and figure out how to add a header to my LJ.  Now I've almost got it, except that the stupid LJ navigation bar is up at the top and blocking part of my header and I can't figure out how to move it down.  Utterly frustrating. 

If anybody has any suggestions, I'd be glad for the help because I've just been looking at random tutorials online and few of them are of any use.  I'm really proud of my header so I'd like to be able to see all of it.  :)
