One nice thing about Friday night was that I was able to purchase Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at the grocery store instead of Borders (I had to wait until after 2 am to get my book there last time because of the crowds).  This year, I got it at 12:02 am at Jewel and was home and reading by 12:30 or so and finished it by 6:30 pm on Saturday.  It was really nice and much more relaxing.

Okay, so to share with all of you, I have one completely lol hilarious Harry Potter thing and one super-rockin' Heroes thing.

To start:

The silly people at the New England Center for Headaches have diagnosed Harry Potter with "probable migraines."  To which my response is...Well, duh.

Seriously, it is one of the most hilarious articles I've ever read.  They're even publishing it in the journal of the American Headache Society (didn't even know that existed).  If you're up for a laugh, definitely check it out.  It's pretty short.

"That even a young male Wizard has recurrent disabling headache is a reflection of the wider problem of headache in children and adolescents," the researchers write.

Also, something that I found very exciting is that Heroes has it's own official alcoholic beverage!  It's called The Eclipse and was created and named courtesy of Greg Grunberg (I love him!).

The Eclipse
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 cup orange liqueur (like Cointreau)
1/2 cup orange-flavored vodka
 2 and 1/2 tsp orange-flower water (optional)
1 bottle champagne or sparkling wine
Strips of orange zest

In an ice-filled pitcher, mix juice, Cointreau, vodka, and orange-flower water.  Strain into glasses, top with champagne or sparkling wine.  Garnish with orange zest.  Serves 8.

Okay, this is for [info]eowyn_girl because she really wanted a visual of Peter Petrelli as an older Harry Potter and procrastination owns my soul right now.  Here you go Viv!  And I hope this entertains the rest of you as well :)

In other random Heroes news, I've been re-watching a bit and going through some of the graphic novels and yesterday I noticed two things I hadn't before:

1.)  Matt Parkman's squad car is car #42 - which as Douglas Adams fans know is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything

2.) Kanyakumari is not only the answer that Charlie gets right on that crossword puzzle, it's also where Mohinder spreads his father's ashes

Oh, and it's Milo Ventimiglia's birthday as many of you on my f-list have already mentioned.  Happy b-day to my favorite fictional boyfriend :)

EDIT: Matching icon!    Feel free to use it :)

Well, I decided to get a shiny new layout and switch default userpics (yay newly-made Ginny Weasley icon!).  I stuck my old header in and the layout seems pretty good so far, except that the tags in the sidebar are causing comments to get pushed all the way to the bottom.  Anyone know how to fix that?

Oh well, I'm off to go watch Serendipity with my flatmate.
